Sheikh Hamdan is ready. Are you?
The Dubai Fitness Challenge, the brainchild of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council - is kicking off on Friday at Safa Park.
From tomorrow, Dubai will come together to dedicate at least 30 minutes of physical activity for 30 days. The goal of the challenge is to put Dubai on the map as the most active city in the world. Signing up is of course half the battle so if you haven't signed up, you can follow our guide here.
After that, the next step is to actually prepare for the fitness challenge. More often than not, many sign up for fitness challenges without checking if they are physically ready for the demands of such activities. So, before you slip on your trainers make sure that you've done these.
Get yourself checked by the doctor
Make sure that you are medically fit to take the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Fatigue can take its toll on you especially if you're going to be exercising on a daily basis.
Wear the right clothing
Not only do they look appropriate, some are also made to ensure that you are comfortable while you are exercising.
Plan your day
While 30 minutes for 30 days might sound small and doable, many of us may end up forgetting to slot it in their schedule. Plan your day accordingly.
Join a fitness club
Getting in shape is more fun when done with other people. It's also scientifically proven to motivate you to push yourself further. If you haven't already, sign up with some fitness clubs around town and get inspired.
Double check that you've signed up
If you haven't done it, then you're missing out on the chance to win some goodies and prizes worth Dh1 million as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
